An update August 23, 2006

Ok, so I wanted to just post a quick update. No I haven’t dropped off the edge of the earth, I’m still hear. Well you don’t have to sound so sad about it. Anyway this summer has been extremely busy for me. First I’ve been working in Child Evangelism Fellowship and 5-day clubs [you can read about those here.] Then on the 15th I started drivers ed. No, you don’t have to avoid all of western Washington; my instructor told me I was a very good driver. That has been a lot of fun, and I have really enjoyed my instructor. But in between working my evening schedule around that and trying to get ahead in school I’ve been pretty busy. This getting prepared for College thing is going to kill me; I thought you weren’t support to die until you actually got into college. Oh by the way my parents are making me bike to my school. However it’s not real hard, it takes about 45 minutes and there isn’t a whole lot of uphill.

Oh by the way my family is vacationing in Oregon next month, so be warned, I may be driving. I can’t believe summer is almost over, that so sucks. But this Friday I have a birthday party at the local water park. That will be fun; however, a lot of my friends can’t make it, which is disappointing. Ok, so I’ve settled the fact that I’m not dead, later I hope to write an actual worthwhile post. Keep safe and keep on checking back for new stuff.

The biggest flipper flopper ever August 13, 2006

Flip flop. That’s the best way to describe the U.N. [United Nations.] In 1947 they gave land to both the Jews and the Arabs. The land they gave to the Jews is now known as the state ofIsrael. And from the getcko the Arabs would have nothing to do with this division. Israel was attacked immediately after their forming as a nation, and has been attacked since. Time and time again Israel has “forgiven” the Arabs, while they might send retaliatory attacks back, they have never destroyed the Arabs. And yet despite all this, the U.N. constantly reprimands Israel whenever they retaliate. They do nothing to try and stop the Arabs from their CONSISTANT attacks against Israel. You might ask why? Well who knows. All I know is it’s a comfort to know that this ridiculous organization called the U.N. has absolutely no power. They have no army, no weapons, and are thus no threat to civilized humanity.

However as a bible believing Christian I do believe that in the future we will face a threat from a great worlwide power. That power could possibally be the U.N. as suggested in the best selling series “Left Behind” by Tim Lehaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. The biggest comfort we can have in our lives is to understand that God is in control. Nothing can happen without his sovereign hand allowing it.

I love Pirates August 1, 2006

Last week I got to go see a really cool boat-ship. However according to the Port of Bellingham I’m guessing that they paid a bit more than a shilling to “tie up the boat at the dock.”

In case you hadn’t gotten the hint by now, I had the opportunity last week to go see the “Lady Washington,” more famously knows for playing the part of “the Interceptor” in Disney’s hit “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl .” It was awesome to get to see it. However, that said, it didn’t look a thing like it did in the movie. For one they repainted it with bright colors [red and yellow] and also it looks tiny, and no that isn’t compared to other ships in the harbor, the “Lady Washington” was the largest ship around that day. But still, just getting to walk were Johnny depp has walked is good enough for me.

Oh, and reminding me of Pirates. Last Sunday in church a visitor sat down next to me, so I reach over and shake his hand. Well he shakes my right hand with his left, which was weird. So then I look down and see that in the place of his right hand he had a hook. I’m like RIGHT ON. Well actually I didn’t say that.
