New twist on old scam July 27, 2006

I’m sure most of you have had one of those emails that tell you if you give someone their bank account number they’ll put millions in your bank account. We’ll I’ve got an email with a new twist today. Here it is.

Dearest In Christ,I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ our Lord, I am Mrs Felicia Mansour  from
Kuwait. I am married to Mr Alex Mansour  who worked with Kuwait embassy in Ivory Coast for nine years before he died in the year 2004.We were married for eleven years without a child. He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were both born again Christian.
Since his death I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of US$2.500million dollars in a Bank in Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire.Presently, this money is still in bank.Recently, my Doctor told me that I would not last for the next Eight months due to cancer problem. The one that disturbs me most is my stroke sickness. Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to a charity organization that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct herein.I want an organization that will use this fund for orphanages, school and church ,widows, propagating the word of God and to endeavor that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that “Blessed is the hand that giveth”.I took this decision because I don’t have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don’t want my husband’s efforts to be used by unbelievers.
I don’t want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way. This is why I am taking this decision. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord.Exodus 14 VS 14 says that “the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace”. I don’t need any telephone communication in this regard because of my health hence the presence of my husband’s relatives around me always. I don’t want them to know about this development. With God all things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the Bank  in  Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire west africaI will also issue you an authority  letter that will prove you the present beneficiary of this fund from
kuwait federal High Court of Justice. I want you and the church to always pray for me because the lord is my shephard. My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian.

Whoever that Wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and Truth. Please always be prayerful all through your life.Contact me on the this email any delay in your reply will give me room in sourcing another church for this same purpose. Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I Stated herein. Hoping to receive your reply.

Remain blessed in the Lord
Take care,
In Christ’s Holy Love
Yours Sister in Christ

This is kind of strange/sad.

Why don’t I ever listen to myself? July 20, 2006

Have you ever heard of those surveys that you fill out and their suppose to bring you back the results of what job you would be best at. Yes, I know, it sounds stupid, but I went ahead and filled one out on-line. Ok, so I’ve always thought that those types of things were just nutty, but this afternoon I was pondering what I was going to do with my life, and I just couldn’t come up with anything. So I did this survey. And here are my results.

What in the world do they mean by I would be best as a Nuclear Engineer? I mean I’ve always been the peaceful type [just don’t ask my little brother about that.] I mean I’ve never been all that big into blowing things up. Well sure, every boy likes to blow stuff up once in a while. But I’m no crazy scientist. Good grief.

6:47 A.M – April 13 – A.D. 1357 – the day that’s not in history – until now. July 19, 2006

It was a morning quite like every other. No one would have guessed this day would hold in its hands the lives of millions. The skies over Mecca were gorgeous as the sun started to peek over the horizon. The reds, oranges and purples spread their gleaming rays across the sun kissed skies. The clouds sailed by, unaware of the tragedy about to ensue. Sheep grazed upon the lush grass. Children stretched, yawned, and slowly opened their eyes to this, a brand new day. Parents, grandparent and great-grandparents got out of bed, preparing for the tasks of the coming day. Every thing was peaceful, not a cry was heard anywhere. Just then aliens came down spreading a brain killing disease over the entire Middle East, with the exception of the nation of Israel.

Well that’s one theory of why the Middle East has such problems.

Pirates review. July 10, 2006

Basically everything was like the first movie only more/bigger. There was more comedy, more romance, more action and yes, unfortunately, more gore. The performances by the actors were, as expected, superb and the visual effects were pretty darn good. All in all it was a great movie.

Things I didn’t particularly like.
The biggest thing I disliked would have to be the gore. There was one scene in the beginning with crows plucking out a guy’s eyes. There just wasn’t any need for that. I also felt that the whole movie was to dark and just plain weird, kind of like a horror film, but on the other hand that’s what I thought of the first movie the first time I saw it. But then once you get over the weirdness of it you start to really enjoy the absolute hilariousness.

Favorite things about the movie.
My favorite thing in the movie would have to be the sword fight. Imagine two guys fighting on a moving wheel that was rolling through the jungle. Now imagine that instead of two men fighting there are three, all fighting individually. It was hysterical. I also loved how they carried several jokes over. Another good part is when Elizabeth throws a tantrum when the three men start to fight. She even tries her good old fainting trick, but to no avail.

Conclusion
One of the good things about Pirates is you know that all the characters have to make it out alright… NOT. This movie has a shocking ending of betrayal. Pirates is an absolute cant miss movie.
